2 Year Old Program Highlights

We will be working with your child on these skills during the year:

Social and Emotional Development

Following classroom routines.
Playing cooperatively with others.
Taking turns and sharing.
Helping clean up.
Sitting for a story one-on-one.
Sitting for a short circle time.

Cognitive Skills/Language Development

Following simple directions.
Naming objects in the environment.
Verbally communicating his/her needs.
Repeating sounds, words and phrases easily.
Singing simple songs.
Acquiring a vocabulary of at least 250 words.
Recognizing colors.
Understanding size differences.

Physical Development - gross motor skills and small motor skills

Walking up steps unassisted.
Kicking and throwing a ball.
Holding a crayon with the thumb and fingers.
Building with blocks.
Dressing and undressing him/herself.
Feeding him/herself.
Toilet training.

Teachers schedule conferences with you to discuss your child's progress at least twice during the year.

At JDN Harvest Bowl

Harvest Bowl

People were in motion all evening at Jenkintown Day Nursery's Harvest Bowl fundraiser, sending their bowling balls down the lane, celebrating strikes, checking out the wide array of raffle baskets, and choosing from among the many refreshments at hand.
